Tree Lighting – Ave of the Giants

The Humboldt Redwoods Visitor Center holds its Christmas tree lighting and open house in December.  Typically, festivities begin at 6 pm and Santa arrives at 6:45 pm to light the tree and talk with the children. Plenty of hot drinks will be served for all. The Visitor Center is located just south of Weott. Call 707 946 2263 with any questions.

Lighted Truck/Tractor Parade Fortuna, Ferndale & Eureka

lighted-truckIn Fortuna, you can watch the big rigs, floats and wheeled vehicles all lit up for the holidays. Typically, the parade starts at 6 p.m. at Redwood Acres and goes to about 8:30 p.m. On Main St the floats can be viewed and all can enjoy refreshments.

You can also head north to Eureka and watch their parade. The parade follows a 7-mile route, starting at Redwood Acres Fairgrounds at 6 pm. Click here for details and the parade route for the Eureka parade.

Ferndale also hosts a parade down Main St for all farmers and ranchers in their decorated wagons and tractors.
