It’s roundup time in Humboldt County! Here’s your chance to celebrate the Old West and small town America during Fortuna’s Rodeo Week. It’s great summer entertainment for the whole family in the heart of California’s redwoods. You’ll find traditional rodeo events like Roping, Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, and Steer Wrestling on Saturday and Sunday (July 15-16), plus a Junior Rodeo and Barrel Racing on Thursday, July 13. Friday features Quad Barrel Racing, Pickup Truck Pull, and Quadiators, plus this year’s new event: Bullfighters Only! Saturday evening it’s Bulls, Broncs, Bands & Brews. In addition to the rodeo, you can enjoy the Carnival, games, live musical entertainment, a Saturday parade, and more. You won’t go hungry, from Monday’s Chili Cookoff to ‘the best BBQ in the West’ on Sunday.  Admission for some events ranges from $7.00 – $15.00; many other events are free. See the Rodeo website for a complete schedule of events and ticket prices.
