One of the best features about life in Fortuna on the “North Coast” of California is our climate. Our proximity to the Pacific Ocean results in stable temperatures trending towards cool and comfortable near the coast, and lower humidity as you move inland. Outdoor activities can be enjoyed in comfort practically year-round. Here are 7 outdoor attractions near Fortuna that you can experience during your stay at The Redwood Riverwalk Hotel!

Plenty of benches are available along the way for periodic respites.

Easily accessible from downtown Eureka, visitors are able to view some of the original 40 acres of old-growth redwood forest. The garden is a gorgeous collection of dahlias and other colorful blooms, and is maintained by volunteers.
  6. Humboldt County Parks and Outdoor Spaces: Our county’s outdoor spaces are open to the public, although playgrounds and communal structures at parks remain closed throughout the state.
